Scanner Dreams

Here's an idea- use the scanner as a camera....... 

Most people place the object to scan, or "document" flat on the glass, and the scanner's light bulb moves past it, recording what it reflects. Giving you a crisp, flat image.

Well,

Consider moving the "document" as the scanner's light bulb moves down the glass. The result is a distortion like this.....



Or consider bending the "document" so that it is not flat on the glass. The scanner has a depth of field, like a camera, so bending the paper makes the image go out of focus and darkens values.... cool!

To use the Design Class' scanner, just click the "Imagecapture" icon on the dock and set up the controls for colors, or greys, or even just black and white. You can also adjust the resolution to get effects.
