Modulated Surface Project (patterns + surface = wow)

How could you use patterns and designs to increase the effect of folding and shaping a sheet of paper until it becomes a 3D sculpture?

Your task:  Decorate a letter sized paper using any techniques- color or black and white- that will accentuate any folding, cutting and curving of the paper.

Design, print, then cut, fold and glue it down to "hold" the new shape.

Here is the handout,

Take a look at Richard Sweeney's site to see some examples of folding, and surface decorations...

Here are some other ideas for cutting paper to make it "react" to pulling and shaping.
These are from RISD Sophomore Jessica Luscher's web site.... link.
